Home is everyone’s living unit, their base. Like a space mission, we set out from it on journeys of different lengths. Mark the routes you travelled from home in recent months. An approximate map is enough. Use thin lines for routes travelled once and thick lines for frequent trips, such as the journey to school. Use colours for landscape types and symbols for road types. Name interesting stops and mark dangerous places with an exclamation mark. Find a landing site for visiting aliens and draw a route from it to your home.
Small Martian craters are named after towns on Earth, large ones after famous planetary scientists and valleys after terrestrial rivers. Stops and rock samples at landing sites receive individual names. Your list can include family members’ and ancestors’ birthplaces or the characters and settings of your favourite stories. Collect them in the box.
