The descendants of ants develop a civilisation 300 million years from now. They build a spacecraft and map Mars. Ants have no personal names, but they have colonies and castes, so they understand the idea of types. They write their map with pheromones, scent signals: each scent denotes a different landform type. This is a translation of their scent-map into human language.
