Almost everything has flowed in Mangala. Water and lava bursting from the long southern fissure shaped the Mangala lowland, together and in turn. A river crossed it and reached the boundary between north and south. On the broad plains of the lowlands, you can wander among hills made of volcanic tuff from the Medusae Fossae Formation and wind-deposited material, through a landscape of parallel valleys and ridges.
